Jennifer Hawkins wears the $3 Million Cerrone Diamond Crown

‘I’ll lend it to Megan Markle for the royal wedding’: Former Miss Universe Jennifer Hawkins showcases a $3 million diamond headpiece – the most expensive fascinator ever created in Australia

She’s the former Miss Universe who’s no stranger to experiencing the finer things in life. So what better person to showcase Australia’s most expensive diamond headpiece than Jennifer Hawkins? The model showed off the glittering $3 million design by diamond jeweller Nic Cerrone during an appearance on Today Extra on Thursday.

Jennifer was asked to wear the piece as part of her Spring Racing Ambassador commitments. But she wasn’t allowed to walk around with it alone, telling Today Extra hosts Ben Fordham and Sonia Kruger that she had a ‘huge security guy’ standing nearby.

‘It is just so magnificent,’ Jennifer said. ‘I’m happy to have it on my head but it will be nice to take it off and look at it too.’

The headpiece, which appears to be a hybrid between a crown and a headband, boasts 122-carats and took a whopping 94 hours to make. ‘It’s magnificent’: The headpiece, which appears to be a hybrid between a crown and a headband, boasts 122 carats and took a whopping 94 hours to make

Jennifer said that she is expecting it will be ‘a little daunting’ wearing the expensive headpiece while attending the races ‘with so many people around’. When asked by the hosts if Jennifer would be happy to ‘loan’ the headpiece to Megan Markle for her upcoming wedding to Prince Harry, the model said she was more than happy to oblige.

‘Even though it’s not mine to lend, sure!’ she laughed.
