The Championships, known as the grand finals is the jewel in the crown of Sydney’s Autumn Carnival.

Showcasing the very best in Australian horse racing, The trophies have been redesigned this year to coincide with the new look of the racing season.

Each trophy is designed with a silver horseshoe frame and a rose gold plated horse head and neck.  Each horse has been set with white diamonds for eyes.

“The new sleek and modern look of the trophies matches the look and feel of the carnival itself.  It is alive with electrifying energy and beauty at every turn.  The white diamonds in the eyes is a symbol for how sharp and scintillating the horses eyes are before a race.” says designer and jeweller Nicola Cerrone.

The trophies will be awarded to winning connections of the The Championships races on Day 1 Saturday April 1 and Day 2 Saturday April 8, 2023.

Cerrone’s 5 Tips on Racewear Etiquette – Do’s and Don’t’s

  1. Your jewellery and accessories should always complete your look – not compete with it. If your dress is OTT, dial back on the accessories. Subtle can take your look far.  If you are choosing a more classic frock, pair it with your headwear and some glamorous tassel earrings!

  1. Remember to plan ahead to avoid any fashion faux pas.  Try your headpiece on with any earrings to ensure they can be worn together and don’t compete with one another.

  1. Be creative – an old neckpiece can create a beautiful headpiece. Refresh a stunning piece by using it in a different way.

  1. You don’t need to wear your entire jewellery  collection – choose  a couple of pieces that pair back with your outfit for the perfect Racewear look.
